Goal

This note helps you in resolving ORA-06502 PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small errors when using DataPump query based exports.

The export log can report the following errors:

ORA-31693: Table data object "<SCHEMA_NAME"."TABLE_NAME" failed to load/unload and is being skipped due to error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-01403: no data found

You checked data dictionary and there are no invalid objects.

The parfile parameters used:

Both full table and schema level export work fine, only the query based export that fails.
