Symptoms

Running Oracle Rdb Data Provider for .NET version 7.3.2.0 with Microsoft Visual Studio Premium 2012 RC Version 11.0.50706.0 QRELRC July, 2012.

Discovered that using implicit transactions and autocommit, running a SELECT statement starts a read/write transaction rather than read-only as the documentation describes.
