This article is a central point containing to links describing the various ways that DBMS_SQLDIAG can be used to find workarounds for various issues with SQL Statements. DBMS_SQLDIAG is shipped with the standard Oracle Database Software and usage requires no additional license. The "problem resolution" modules were introduced in Oracle 11g.
There are the following possible problem types for DBMS_SQLDIAG :
- PROBLEM_TYPE_PERFORMANCE - User suspects this is a performance problem
- PROBLEM_TYPE_WRONG_RESULTS - User suspects the query is giving inconsistent results
- PROBLEM_TYPE_COMPILATION_ERROR - User sees a crash in compilation
- PROBLEM_TYPE_EXECUTION_ERROR - User sees a crash in execution
