Why is the replication bookmark on the Standby datastore not progressing? (Doc ID 1511132.1)

Symptoms

The original problem reported here was the replication bookmark did not advance on the Standby side of an Active Standby pair. The customer also saw these errors reported in the ttmesg.log files:

ACTIVE:

2012-09-27 01:58:43.95 Warn: REP:  7654: ACTIVE:receiver.c(2871): TT16060: Failed to read data from the network. select() timed out

STANDBY:

2012-09-27 02:02:54.94 Warn: REP: 11846: STANDBY:transmitter.c(5999): TT16060: Failed to read data from the network. select() timed out
