Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide a brief description of the Oracle TNS Listener process and describe its operation in different run-time scenarios. This will give the customer a better understanding of how the TNS Listener functions in different types of configurations.
Scope
This document applies to the Oracle listener process in Standalone, RAC and RAC/SCAN configurations. It is limited in scope to 10g and newer.
