Purpose

  1. Show how space is allocated on Exadata Database Machine grid disks when you increase the size of an existing grid disk
  2. Demonstrate how a grid disk can be created at a precise offset.

Scope

 This note is intended for administrators responsible for allocating space in an Exadata Database Machine environment and want to know details of how a cell allocates space.

The tests shown in this note were performed on a cell that was imaged to 11.2.3.2.1.
