COMPILATION_ERROR after Import when Materialized View References SYS Tables (Doc ID 1522287.1)

  1. When a materialized view (mview) is imported into a database, the compile_state in DBA_MVIEWS shows as COMPILATION_ERROR.  
  2. Compiling the mview shows no errors, yet the compile_state cannot be changed back to VALID.  
  3. The mview references a SYS-owned table.  Query rewrite is not allowed when SYS tables are referenced in the mview query; however, this particular mview did not have query rewrite enabled.
  4. Applying a patch for <Bug 14722181>: MV NO LONGER REWRITES AFTER UPGRADE TO did not resolve the problem.
