How to Determine which Row is Locked by a Blocking Session

Information in this document applies to any platform.
The following steps can be followed to determine the row being locked by a blocking session. The sample scripts use the EMPLOYEES table in the HR demo schema that is installed from 10g onwards.
The scripts require 3 separate sessions in order to be completed successfully:
- Two sessions logged in as the HR schema owner
- A session logged in as SYSDBA to run queries on system views
