Symptoms

Note: This document uses an example of R-core-2.15.1-1.el5.x86_64.rpm.  The actual rpm will be determined by the BDA version you are running.

The Oracle Big Data Appliance software healthcheck bdachecksw fails with something like below indicating an invalid package under /usr/lib64/R/library:


# bdachecksw

SUCCESS: Correct OS disk s0 partition info : 1 ext3 raid 2 ext3 raid 3 linux-swap 4 ext3 primary
SUCCESS: Correct OS disk s1 partition info : 1 ext3 raid 2 ext3 raid 3 linux-swap 4 ext3 primary
SUCCESS: Correct data disk s2 partition info : 1 ext3 primary
...
SUCCESS: All required programs are accessible in $PATH
ERROR: Required package R-core is is not valid : S.5....T

/usr/lib64/R/library/KernSmooth/DESCRIPTION
SUCCESS: Correct bda-monitor status : bda monitor is running
ERROR: Big Data Appliance failed software validation checks
