Goal
These simple steps can be useful when you need to find exactly what sql statement a process is running at any particular time. This could be useful in different scenarios such as trying to easily and quickly find out what a specific user is doing for whatever reason. Maybe a user is running a program that is using a lot OS resources, for example. This feature is only available starting with Oracle 11i.
