Hadoop fs Commands fail on One of the Racks in MutliRack BDA Cluster (Doc ID 1528968.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 11, 2016

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 2.0.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Not able to run any hadoop commands on node 3 to 18 on rack 1.

Here is the error when 'hadoop fs -ls /' command is executed.

bash-3.2$ hadoop fs -ls /
13/02/11 10:42:05 WARN retry.RetryInvocationHandler: Exception while invoking getFileInfo of class ClientNamenodeProtocolTranslatorPB after 1 fail over attempts . Trying to fail over after sleeping for 1159ms.

The same command works fine on node01/02 on rack1 and also on all nodes of rack2.

The error surfaced when HDFS has been restarted for the first time after the install.
