Purpose

Oracle Solaris 11 starts up an IPMP group interface after an IPMP group is created, this is new and does not exist in the previous release. The IPMP group interface is similar to bond interface on Linux, network failure/failover is transparent to it.

This document provides an example of how to configure Grid Infrastructure on Solaris 11 using an IPMP setup for both public and private (cluster_interconnect) network.
