Symptoms

When trying to do silent installation for GRID and creating diskgroup using response file, the Diskgroup is created by default value (1 MB) of allocation unit, even when non default value (eg. 4MB) is given in response file.

Tried to install GRID software and create ASM instance and Diskgroup using silent installation as below

[oracle@localhost ~]$ ./runInstaller -silent -responseFile /u02/grid_install.rsp

The response file contains below entries

#-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
# Allocation unit size to be used by ASM.
oracle.install.asm.diskGroup.AUSize=4.

SQL> select NAME,ALLOCATION_UNIT_SIZE from v$asm_diskgroup;

NAME                           ALLOCATION_UNIT_SIZE
------------------------------ --------------------
DATA                                        1048576
