Timesten JDBC:"End of InputStream reached before satisfying length" followed by "Function sequence error" (Doc ID 1539060.1)

Symptoms

The following error was seen in the application log while running an UPDATE statement :

DEBUG XXX.YYY.PreparedStatement - executeUpdate::Expecting more 1; end of InputStream reached before satisfying length 354 specified when InputStream was set


Followed by Function sequence error when the application was trying to rollback the transaction
