ORA-600 [kcbnew_3] Error During Online Index Rebuild (Doc ID 1541558.1)

Symptoms

  1. An online index rebuild results in:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kcbnew_3], [0], [1], [659414], [], [], [], []


  2. The current SQL statement for the session is:
    alter index <schema_name>.<index_name> rebuild online tablespace <tablespace_name>


  3. Review of the generated tracefiles reveals a call stack similar to:
    ... < kcbnew < ktspfmdb < ktspfmtrng < ktspgspir < ktspgsp_cbk1 < ktspgsp_cbk < kdicre < qerli_cin_crt_idx_seg < qerliRop < qersoFetch < ...
