Symptoms

 Create view select NVARCHAR column with REPLACE function from table , the data length of the column in the view does not match length of source column.

 

SQL> desc TEST_TAB;
Name                                      Null?    Type
----------------------------------------- -------- ----------------------------
NAME                                         NVARCHAR2(96)


SQL> create view test_name as select replace(NAME,chr(10),' ') name from TEST_TAB;

View created.

SQL> desc test_name;
Name                                      Null?    Type
----------------------------------------- -------- ----------------------------
NAME                                         NVARCHAR2(192)
