Audit Vault Server Backup and Restore for Release and Prior (Doc ID 1556200.1)

 This document describes how to create a manual backup of the audit vault server and restoring that  backup to a new,replacement hardware using bash shell scripts.

The "backup and restored script" mentioned below is only for Audit Vault Server 12.1 and not for 12.2 releases. The "backup and restored script" it is not part of the 12.1 images. In 12.2 it is replaced by the avbackup utility that is included in the 12.2 images.


Note: As of Audit Vault and Database Firewall 12.2 the backup and restore feature was integrated into the appliance. You can read more about the AVDF 12.2 backup/restore in the documentation.



A complete Audit Vault and Database Firewall 12.1 (AVDF) configuration must exist of both Audit Vault Server(s) and Database Firewall(s). The instructions in this note only apply to the Audit Vault Server, not to the Database Firewall.
