Oracle Big Data Appliance V2.1.1 Configuration Utility Generates Inconsistent Names (Doc ID 1559290.1)

Last updated on MARCH 23, 2014

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 2.1.1 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

When using the Oracle Big Data Appliance Configuration Utility and filling out the V2.1.1 bda_configurator.ods file with required settings the spreadsheet looks to have some inconsistent names.

For example:

PDU A ends up with a host name of: aabda01-pdua
but
PDU B ends up with a host name of: aa-bda01-pdub

And for node 1 and node 2 generated names look like:

01: aa-bda-node01-adm
02: aa-bda-node02-adm
03: aabda-03-adm
04: aabda-04-adm
