"Missing Operating System" Message seen on Server after Reimaging Oracle Big Data Appliance to 2.1.0 (Doc ID 1559876.1)

Last updated on MARCH 23, 2014

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 2.1.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

After moving the Oracle Big Data Appliance and after reimaging the entire BDA rack to the 2.1.0 image one or more of the servers will not boot up after restart of server. There is a message displayed which shows:

"Missing Operating System"

Most nodes start up normally, but there are one or more which do not. The server(s) which will not boot up after restart, can be accessed from their previous ILOM addresses. This however, indicates that the reimage wasn't successful. Changing the boot device to hard disk on those servers does not remedy the situation.
