Purpose
This document provides steps on how to validate your network and storage configuration for Direct NFS using DBMS_RESOURCE_MANAGER.CALIBRATE_IO procedure.
Scope
This note is mainly for customers who are using Direct NFS and would like to validate their network and storage configuration. Since Direct NFS architecture is significantly different from the traditional OS NFS client, many of the standard OS tools used for network and storage calibration as not useful. Hence we provide this alternate approach of using DBMS_RESOURCE_MANAGER.CALIBRATE_IO to validate the network and storage configuration. Ideally, this procedure should be used prior to enabling Direct NFS for a production system.
