(Doc ID 1563538.1)
Last updated on APRIL 16, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Rdb Server on OpenVMS - Version 7.2.5.2 and laterHP OpenVMS Itanium
HP OpenVMS Alpha
Symptoms
When a full online backup of a database is running, it is not allowed to perform DDL statements (such as CREATE INDEX) on the database.
The DDL statement may lead to a bugcheck dump, and RMU/BACKUP will abort. If the RMU/BACKUP is repeated, while no DDL statement is executing, the new RMU/BACKUP will complete.
The bugcheck dump may look like (output from bugcheck summarizer):
The value 4294967295 is equivalent to xFFFFFFFF or -1.
