RMAN CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE to ASM fails ORA-00234 ORA-00202 ORA-17503 ORA-15045
if only specifying 'diskgroup' without alias is specified in command like:

 RMAN> CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '<+dgroup>' ;

 

RMAN NOCATALOG:

 
With RMAN CATALOG you get the errors immediate with the statement CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '<+dgroup>' ;
