Purpose
This document provides step-by-step instructions for upgrading from Oracle Database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure release 11.2.0.2 BP12 and later to 11.2.0.4 on Oracle Exadata Database Machine for the Oracle Linux and Oracle Solaris operating system. For upgrades to 11.2.0.4 coming from releases earlier than 11.2.0.2 BP12 see <document 1555036.1>. If you have multiple database homes installed, with at least one of them on 11.2.0.2 BP11 or earlier, then also follow <document 1555036.1>.
This document may also be used in conjunction with <document 1919941.1> for upgrade of Oracle Database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure to 11.2.0.4 on Oracle Exadata Database Machine running Oracle Solaris x86-64 and Oracle SuperCluster running Oracle Solaris SPARC. Document <document 1919941.1> contains Solaris-specific requirements, recommendations, guidelines, and workarounds that pertain to upgrade of Oracle Database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure to 11.2.0.4.
