Cloudera Manager Health Tests Report "health of the Activity Monitor is bad" on Oracle Big Data Appliance V2.1 (Doc ID 1567805.1)

Symptoms

Checking the Health Tests in Cloudera Manager on the Oracle Big Data Appliance V2.1.2 by navigating:
Cloudera Manager > Services > mgmt

shows that the Activity Monitor used to monitor the jobs and activities  running on the Hadoop cluster is in a "bad" state.   As below:

1. The Health Tests report:

The health of the Activity Monitor is bad.  The following health checks are bad: web server status


2. The Health History reports:

The health test result for MGMT_ACTIVITY_MONITOR_HEALTH has become bad. The health of the Activity Monitor is bad.  The following health checks are bad: web server status


3. Status and Health Summary reports:

Activity Monitor health is Bad. 

 

 

 

Associated errors include:

1. The health test result for ACTIVITY_MONITOR_WEB_METRIC_COLLECTION has become bad: The Cloudera Manager agent is not able to communicate with this role's web server.

2. Errors in the associated Activity Monitor log file include:

WARN org.mortbay.log
failed SelectChannelConnector@<HOSTNAME>.<DOMAIN>:9999: java.net.BindException: Address already in use
WARN org.mortbay.log
failed Server@<NAME>: java.net.BindException: Address already in use
INFO com.cloudera.cmon.tree.ActivityAndAttemptPurgeService
