MySQL Server - Version 5.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When attempting to start the multi-threaded slave (slave_parallel_workers > 0) with relay_log_info_file configured,
the following error occurs.

[ERROR] Failed to create a new info file (file '/var/lib/mysql/worker-/mysql/logs/', errno 2)

Note: The actual errno will depend on the operating system. The above example is from Linux.

The issue happens with a configuration file that specifies both relay_log_info_file and set the number of parallel slave workers greater than 0:

The issue can happen after updating the configuration to have both of

  1. relay_log_info_file
  2. slave_parallel_workers with a value greater than 0
