Symptoms

While performing an upgrade or other maintenance task, you found a grid disk on one of the cell servers with asmmodestatus is UNKNOWN:

 

Changes

A sundiag should be reviewed to ensure there isn't an issue with the disk: MOS Note Oracle Exadata Diagnostic Information required for Disk Failures (Doc ID: 761868.1).
