Oracle Big Data Appliance Node Does Not Come up after Reboot, ILOM reports: "Unmounting NFS filesysems: umount.nfs <mount point> not found"

Symptoms
After rebooting more than one Oracle Big Data Appliance(BDA) nodes, for example in the case of re-imaging an entire BDA, one of the nodes may not come back up. You will not be able to ssh into the node for example, but will be able to ping it.
Logging into the ILOM Remote Console of the unavailable node (DOC ID 1475201.1 How to Use the Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) on Oracle Big Data Appliance) shows that the startup process is stuck at the line:
nfs: server <IP_ADDRESS_NFSSERVER> not responding, still trying
