ORA-15010 Name Is Already Used By An Existing ASM Disks (Doc ID 1585013.1)

Symptoms

  Unable to add disks to a diskgroup due to the next error:

SQL> alter diskgroup redo add disk '/dev/oracleasm/disks/REDO21','/dev/oracleasm/disks/REDO20';
alter diskgroup redo add disk '/dev/oracleasm/disks/REDO21','/dev/oracleasm/disks/REDO20'

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
ORA-15010: name is already used by an existing ASM disk
ORA-15010: name is already used by an existing ASM disk

Changes

SAN migration. has been done customer is  able to add disks to most existing diskgroup.
 failed to add 2 disks to Dg +REDO and the errors:
