Expdp Job Fails With ORA-39126/ORA-06502 (Doc ID 1585451.1)

Symptoms

Running a schema level datapump export fails with:

ORA-39126: Worker unexpected fatal error in KUPW$WORKER.FETCH_XML_OBJECTS [TABLE_STATISTICS]
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 95
ORA-06512: at "SYS.KUPW$WORKER", line 9001


After excluding statistics, the job fails again with another ORA-39126/ORA-06502.

The same errors can be seen with next objects excluded:
  statistics, trigger, constraint, package, view, functional_index, index, procedure, function, comment, object_grant

Example:

Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLE/TABLE
ORA-39126: Worker unexpected fatal error in KUPW$WORKER.FETCH_XML_OBJECTS [TABLE:"<SCHEMA_NAME>"."<TABLE_NAME>"]
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
