ORA-29275 when issuing query against UTF8 database from Oracle Provider for OleDB or Oracle Data Provider for .NET (Doc ID 1590236.1)

When querying a database with characterset such as UTF8 or AL32UTF8 via the Oracle OLEDB provider (ORAOLEDB) or Oracle Data Provider for .NET (ODP.NET), the following may be encoutered, although querying the same data via other means (such as SQL*Plus)  may result in no error

    ORA-29275 Partial multibyte character

 

Changes

 This may be a result of migrating the database and changing the characterset, or may also be noticed when using ORAOLEDB or ODP.NET for the first time.
