ORA-00600 [ktcccod-1] Error From MMON Process Following Repeated EMNC Process Failures (Doc ID 1591783.1)

Symptoms

The MMON background process reports an ORA-00600 [ktcccod-1] error periodically.  Prior to this error occurring, the alert log shows that the EMNC background process kept dying and failing to restart, e.g.:

Checking the MMON trace file will show the ORA-00600 [ktcccod-1] error occurring following MMON encountering an ORA-12751 error, e.g.:

Checking the EMNC process will show the underlying error causing the problem, e.g.: 

error 43853 detected in background process

ORA-43853: SECUREFILE lobs cannot be used in non-ASSM tablespace "SYSTEM"

NOTE:
The error ORA-00600 [ktcccod-1] can also be encountered due to an immediate shutdown being performed at the same time as the EMNC process starts.  For example:

Shutting down instance (immediate)
Shutting down instance: further logons disabled
...
Stopping background process MMON
...
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ktcccod-1], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
