Symptoms

You are trying to import a partition table into another database using data pump import (IMPDP) and it fails with the following errors like in the following example:

ORA-39083: Object type TABLE:"<SCHEMA>"."<TABLE_NAME>" failed to create with error:
ORA-00959: tablespace '_$deleted$557$0' does not exist"

ORA-39083: Object type CONSTRAINT failed to create with error:
ORA-00959: tablespace '_$deleted$556$0' does not exist

Changes

All the table partitions had once been moved to another tablespace and the original tablespace has now been dropped or the new tablespace where the partitions now reside has been renamed to the original tablespace name.
