Symptoms

An error message is received when trying to start the MySQL server: Fatal error: Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'mysql.user' doesn't exist

Changes

The authoritative location of the my.cnf has moved from /etc/my.cnf to /usr/my.cnf for the MySQL 5.6 version.
