Symptoms

Attempting to create a new database with a high setting of PROCESSES, e.g. 5000, and receiving a ORA-27102 like below even though there is plenty of memory available on the server.

ORA-27102: out of memory Linux-x86_64 Error: 28: No space left on device

 

Changes

 In this scenario, it was found that the SHMMAX and SHMALL OS parameters were at the proper levels.
