RMAN Incremental Backup is causing Control File Enqueue Contention during tablespace backup (Doc ID 1600035.1)

Performing "backup incremental from SCN ### tablespace <name> " is causing a controlfile backup to take place.

This triggers CF enqueue contention and in the case of a large number of tablespace's being backed up this may delay impact the performance of the backup routine.


Incremental backups from SCN are used in Cross platform RMAN migration and if a larger number of tablespaces are to be migrated this can delay the incremental time.

Though AUTOBACKUP of  CF (Controlfile)  is disabled, you still see CF (Controlfile) backups being taken when incremental from scn is used.
