After upgrading to BDA V2.2.1 Cloudera Manager (CM) is sending alerts like the following:

The health test result for SERVICE_MONITOR_LOG_DIRECTORY_FREE_SPACE has become bad: This role's log directory is on a filesystem with less than 5.0 GiB of its space free. /var/log/cloudera-scm-firehose (free: 4.6 GiB (2.89%), capacity: 160.8 GiB)
Time: Nov 5, 2013 8:43:32 AM

On further investigation of the issue found that root partition was 98 % full (df -k /). Also found out the /var/lib/mysql folder is taking too much space.
