Symptoms

Processing XML with dbms_xmlstore.insertxml fails with the following error:

ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [qmuhshenum_init()] [SIGSEGV] [ADDR:0x8] [PC:0x1088140E0] [Address not mapped to object] []

Below is an example:

declare
  v_xmltemp xmltype;
  v_context dbms_xmlstore.ctxtype;
  i_tableName varchar2(30) := 'TABLE_T1';
  v_count number;
begin
  v_xmltemp := xmltype('<ROWSET><ROW></ROW></ROWSET>');
  v_context := dbms_xmlstore.newcontext(i_tableName);
  v_count := dbms_xmlstore.insertxml(v_context, v_xmlTemp);
  dbms_xmlstore.closecontext(v_context);
end;

If a NULL value is inserted for the element, the row is inserted successfully:

v_xmltemp := xmltype('<ROWSET><ROW><MDN></MDN></ROW></ROWSET>');
