Table Created with Impala 1.1.1 in the impala-shell Invoked From and Connected to the impalad on that Node is not Visible from Another Node on the BDA

(Doc ID 1615215.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 22, 2014

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 2.1.1 and later
Linux x86-64

With Impala V1.1.1 the impala-shell works from all nodes of the Oracle Big Data Appliance (BDA) cluster but a table created in the impala-shell invoked from and connected to the impalad on that node is only shown in the impala-shell on that node.  Further, if the impala-shell on the node where the table was created connects to the impalad on any other node the table does not show up either.

1. For example, consider the impala table test1 created on Node 1 in the impala-shell connected to the impalad on that node. The created impala table test1 is visable.
