ORA-21700 During Materialized View Refresh on Table with a Spatial Column (UDT) but Materialized View Does Not Reference Spatial Column (Doc ID 1617040.1)

Symptoms

A distributed materialized view (mview) refresh fails with ORA-21700 when there is a spatial column on the primary table, but the mview does not contain that column and the target database does not contain the datatype.

Changes

Upgrade from 9i to 11gR2 (used to work in 9i).   In this case, the user-defined datatype (UDT) was from a third-party application, and the license did not let them define this in the target (mview) database.
