Receiving KFNDG-00405: file not found when renaming diskgroup

Goal

When attempting to rename a diskgroup the process is failing with output similar to the following.

 

rebooted the server and tried the workaround still getting errors:

-bash-3.00$ renamedg phase=both dgname=SOD_DATA newdgname=DATA2 verbose=true asm_diskstring=/dev/rdsk/*
NOTE: No asm libraries found in the system

Parsing parameters..

Parameters in effect:

        Old DG name       : SOD_DATA
        New DG name          : DATA2
        Phases               :
                Phase 1
                Phase 2
        Discovery str        : /dev/rdsk/*
        Clean              : TRUE
        Raw only           : TRUE
