Why do I receive this error 2245: Maximum values for compression group from ttImportFromOracle? (Doc ID 1624126.1)

Last updated on MARCH 01, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database - Version 11.2.2.2.0 to 11.2.2.7.9 [Release 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The customer has described this problem.

When attempting to load in a table into TimesTen (see version below) using the PDL scripts generated by ttImportFromOracle we intermittently get the following error with the compressed columns:

2245: Maximum values for compression group containing column <compressed column name> already present

We have verified that the total amount of distinct values (3) does not exceed the DICTIONARY MAXVALUES setting used. And as part of the data load all tables in timesten are truncated (and statistics gathered) before data is loaded. When we re-attempt the load for this table using the same script it will work, the issue is very intermittent.

Note ttImportFromOracle is calling ttLoadFromOracle, so the problem lies here.
