Remote JDBC Thin Driver Connections time out due to NULL Service Name information back from the Listener if LOCAL_LISTENER is not set correctly
Last updated on FEBRUARY 13, 2014
Applies to:Oracle Net Services - Version 18.104.22.168 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
JDBC Thin connections fail to connect and throw various generic "timed out" errors:
- A normal Oracle*Net / SQL*Net connection, such as with SQL*Plus or an OCI driver, does not have this same issue which connects without issues.
This may be a new installation or cloning from an existing installation or configuration changes.
Either way, there may have been a change to Database "Registration" settings.
