Information in this document applies to any platform.
The OSB admin server stores encryption keys, used by the different clients in a subdirectory of the admin directory.
- When exactly are those encryption keys removed from the OSB wallet on the admin server ?
- Are they removed as soon as the tape becomes expired or do they remain in the wallet until the last backup image is removed from the tapes ?
Example : an encrypted tape backup has an expiration date of 5 months, but is kept outside the tape library for a year (so it's at least 7 months past expiration, but all data is still on the tape medium).
Can this tape be restored (after importing the images or by using a raw restore) or are the encryption keys no longer available ?
