Symptoms

Unable to finish "Postinstallation Steps" steps when installing to an existing middletier and database. Step 9 is failing,

searchadmin -u searchsys -p -c http://host.domain:port/search/api/admin/AdminService update indexOptimizer -i SES_HOME/SES/search/data/config/weekly_optimize.xml -a overwrite

EQA-15022: The user "SEARCHSYS" does not have permission to perform operation "update" on objects with type "indexOptimizer".

NOTE: This document can also be used if there are any security type issues after installation of Weblogic server patches once SES has been running for some time. This issue may occur on any SES installation type. This can appear as either not able to log in to SES Admin console or with permission errors or greyed out options in the Admin pages after patches are installed.
