Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In 11.2.0.3.0 with patch 18094154 installed, given this data:

  badaguelbahia-bakana

this Text query works:

  SQL> select * from victab where contains(txt,'( fuzzy(BAADGEL%,70,10,W) within fn ) and ( fuzzy(BAKA%,70,10,W) within ln )')>0;

  ID TYP TXT
  ---------- ---------- ----------------------------------------
  1 5 badaguelbahia-bakana

but this one (which is the same two expressions reversed) doesn't:

  SQL> select * from victab where contains(txt,'( fuzzy(BAKA%,70,10,W) within ln ) and ( fuzzy(BAADGEL%,70,10,W) within fn )')>0;

  no rows selected

NOTE: This problem doesn't occur against:
- 11.2.0.3.0 with no patches installed
- 11.2.0.4.0 with no patches installed
- 12.1.0.1.0 with no patches installed
