Purpose

This document provides steps on how to add , update and remove Password-based on-disk encryption on Oracle Big Data Appliance with Mammoth V2.5 , V2.6, V3.* and V4.*

Currently adding on-disk encryption works with CDH clusters that have OEL 6 OS.  When on-disk encryption is enabled on BDA with OEL 5 OS, there are no errors thrown but on-disk encryption is not enabled for HDFS partitions.

Scope

This document will be used by Oracle ACS, Oracle Support, and System Administrators for the Oracle Big Data Appliance.
