ORA-942 While Validating Objects or Components (Doc ID 1662239.1)

Symptoms

ORA-942 is reported while executing ultrp.sql script to validate objects or when scripts like catproc.sql or catupgrd.sql are executed to validate the components in dba_registry.

 

the Errorstack of ORA-942 shows:

Executing utlrp.sql script may fail with errors like

ORA-22303: type "SYS"."JOB_DEFINITION_ARRAY" not found
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "SYS.UTL_RECOMP"
ORA-06512: at line 4

OR

ERROR:
ORA-22303: type "SYS"."DBMSOUTPUT_LINESARRAY" not found
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "SYS.DBMS_OUTPUT"
ORA-06512: at line 1

 

Changes

 Discovered that the hidden parameter _no_objects set to TRUE in the database spfile.
