Symptoms

Spatial queries using a function to return SDO_GEOMETRY fail with the following error:

ORA-13226: interface not supported without a spatial index

 

For example:

SELECT count(*)
  FROM xtend_offer xo, xtend_offer_location xol, xtend_location xl
 WHERE XO.OFFER_ID = XOL.OFFER_ID
   AND XO.OFFER_ID = 'xxxxxx'
   AND XOL.LOCATION_ID = XL.LOCATION_ID
   AND XL.LATITUDE is not null
   AND XL.LONGITUDE is not null
   AND sdo_within_distance(utilitiespkg.get_point_geometry_long_lat(xl.longitude,
                           xl.latitude),cata_ag.utilitiespkg.get_point_geometry_long_lat(-119.19, 34.17),
                           'distance=10 unit=MILE') = 'TRUE';

SELECT count(*)
