Symptoms
One of the nodes in a BDA cluster is "down"/"unavailable/"unreachable".
1. Pinging the "down" node from another node on the cluster fails:

4. Upon typing "Control-D and logging into the node via the ILOM, the node can be restarted, but it is still "down" from the point of view of HDFS.
