Symptoms

RAC home is currently running in 2 nodes of cluster  and needs  to extend it to  another 2 nodes through addnode procedure. 

Addnode fails with the below error while trying to extend RDBMS home:

 

./addNode.sh "CLUSTER_NEW_NODES={racnode3,racnode4}"

SEVERE:OUI-10010:Cannot perform add node procedure for non-cluster Oracle homes.
